Ashford Rigid Heddle Warping Pegs

The Indirect Warping Option, which allows you to turn your Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom into a warping board, is now available on all newer standard Ashford Rigid Heddle Looms. These pegs, which measure 4.75 inches (12 cm) in length and 7/16 inches (11mm) in diameter, fit into the factory-drilled holes in the underside of your loom.

By inserting the pegs, winding your warp, removing your warp, removing the pegs, and then flipping your loom over, you can start tying on your warp. This process is detailed in a tutorial available on Ashford's website, which can be accessed by searching for "indirect".

The benefits of indirect warping include flexibility in using a single thread of one color, space-saving, even warp lengths, and better tension control. The set of 14 warping pegs is designed to fit the newer standard models of Ashford Rigid Heddle Looms that have pre-drilled holes in the bottom of the loom, specifically the 2020 and newer models in 16, 24, 32, and 48 inch sizes (RH400, RH600, RH800, and RH1200). However, it does not fit the Ashford SampleIt Looms, Knitter's Looms, or Table Looms.

For each size of Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom, the approximate maximum warp lengths are as follows: RH400 (16" or 40cm) - 15.5' (4.7m), RH600 (24" or 60cm) - 22.0' (6.7m), RH800 (32" or 80cm) - 28.5' (8.7m), and RH1200 (48" or 120cm) - 41.5' (12.7m).
